A note on the data. Every one of the 21 bench codes returned records when we checked. A few hundred claims carry a placeholder filing year of 1970 rather than their real one, so if you filter by filing year and a claim seems to be missing, search it by name or CNR instead.

How to check an RCT case status

1. By name. If you know the claimant, type the name into the free text box and add the bench filter. Claims are usually brought by the injured passenger or the family of the deceased, with the railway as respondent, so a name plus the bench finds the matter. 2. By CNR. Every RCT matter carries a 16 character CNR that never changes, even if the case is renumbered. An RCT CNR begins with the bench code, followed by the case type letters, the running number and the year. Paste the CNR into the search and you land on that exact claim.
