District courts, High Courts and the Supreme Court get a 16-character case number from the eCourts system. Tribunals such as NCLT, ITAT and NGT do not. eCourtsIndia mints a deterministic 16-character CNR for 14 tribunals, so a tribunal case works with the same API call as a district court case.
